  • The Air NORTH magazine is published at the beginning of each month by the magazine production team, consists of between 48-64 A5 pages, and boasts a colour cover each month, with numerous black and white photos published inside.

    The magazine's regular sections include -

    Newcastle Movements - complete coverage of visitors, airline movements and overshoots at Newcastle Airport.
    Teesside Movements - similar for Teesside Airport.
    Carlisle Movements - Movements and news from the most westerly of our airports.
    Low-Level & High-Level Overflights - two sections detailing overflights of our region. Includes tie-ups for Airline overflights.
    'Around-and-about' the Area/Country/World - three sections covering news from airfields in our area, other airports around the country, and members visits abroad.
    'Blast from the Past' - A look back at Newcastle Airport 30 years ago, through the eyes of founder member Glen Auld.
    ATC News - latest news/procedures from our ATC expert David Webster.
    Military Section - covering reports and rumours from UK military airfields, compiled by our military expert Mike Fairless.
    Articles - general articles from the membership, on anything from gliding in the ATC, to WWII Luftwaffe bombing raids over the North-East.

    You can subscribe to the Air NORTH magazine by joining the society (details below), or you can purchase individual copies at various aviation enthusiast outlets around the UK, including Air Supply at Leeds, and closer to home, the WH Smiths shop in the Newcastle and Teesside Airport terminals. For those in Newcastle City, the magazine is also available from Robinson Books, in the Grainger Market in the City Centre.

    How to Join

    APPLICATION to become a member of Air NORTH and subscribe to the monthly magazine can be made by way of Andrew Murray (address below). The annual fee has been set for 2007 at £27 with cheques made payable please to "AIR NORTH".
